Eriophyllum lanatum, otherwise known as Oregon Sunshine, is a native wildflower found throughout the region. This drought-resistant groundcover has cheerful yellow flowers, 1-2" in diameter, which resemble sunflowers. Boasting a silver-woolly, deeply lobed and lacy texture, it is perfect for borders, rock gardens, and naturalized areas. It prefers hot direct sunlight and poor soils and must have good drainage. As most plants in the Asteraceae (Sunflower) family it is very attractive to bees but also brings butterflies and birds.
